Terrestrial Globe on Stand, Made by Girard, Barrere and Thomas, Paris, First Half 20th C., mahogany stand raised on three brass square tapering legs . Maker's sign to the right of New Zealand. The papermaking sphere is covered with 12 fine-colored lithographed paper segments. The semi-meridian in brass with 2 x 90 ° pitch is mounted on a splendid stand.
Girard Barrere is a House of cartographic editions born in 1934.
It followed the productions of Henry Barrère (1890-1930) and P.H. Barrère (1931-1933). It operated between 1946 and 1959 with the name Girard, Barrere and Thomas and was taken over in 1974 by the Cartes Taride. She continued to specialize in school documents, especially in maps and globes.
