The realization of ship's model is a technical leisure which consists of reproducing a real boat on a given scale, generally reduced, with more or less precision and more or less functionalities comparable to those of the real model.
A ship's bottle is a miniature representation of a ship enclosed in a glass bottle, serving as a decorative object.
Very common in the twentieth century, these representations were often the testimony of a sailor who wanted to show his entourage the ships on which he had sailed. The lighthouse keepers also used to make boats in bottles, or in used bulbs of the lighthouse.
The difficulty consists in bringing a sailboat with its sails through the neck of a bottle, and that is what justifies the high price demanded of it. A common deception is to cut the bottle to place the boat, then to reassemble the piece by concealing the cut by an ornament, like a rolled rope.
The sailboat is assembled on the outside, all masts and shrouds are folded horizontally. The hull and its rigging are introduced into the bottle, and deployed inside with a string connected to the masts.
The ships in the bottle are made by navibotellists. The latter portray boats in a maritime environment and many other subjects - even without boats - but always inside a glass vessel with narrow opening.
The realization of models or ship's model is a technical leisure which consists in reproducing a real boat on a given scale, generally reduced, with more or less precision and more or less functionalities comparable to those of the real model.
Modeling seems to designate rather the realization of static models. Naval modeling, for example, makes the distinction between "maquetisme" (in french) and modeling, with the realization of models (models of exhibition) and models of navigators.
The use of models has been known since ancient times (Cretan house, Egyptian ship, etc. found in tombs) and throughout all periods: those that have come down to us are generally related to architecture, military arts Plan-relief) and navigation (boats).
Ships models: cruise ships, steamers, sailboats, riva, submarines, aircraft carriers, frigates ..
The marine diorama, is a system of presentation by scenario or staging of an exhibition model (historical scene, fictitious, a boat or several ...), making it appear in its usual environment.
It is a mode of reconstruction of a maritime scene.
